Henkels & McCoy, Inc., (H&M) is a leading utility construction firm providing critical infrastructure for the power, communications, oil and gas pipelines, as well as gas distribution markets throughout North America.
H&M retained Mariola Unlimited to develop and create internal communications, including a quarterly e-newsletter and a highly visible, annual awards booklet. H&M’s existing newsletter was content heavy and lacked any theme. The awards booklet was developed as part of an annual program to recognize and honor top performers.
Michelle led an overhaul of the H&M newsletter by considering the brand and core values. In doing so, the updated newsletter included dedicated space for H&M’s most important topics like health and safety, success stories, and big wins. Incorporating infographics and more people/project focused images gave the e-newsletter visual appeal, and changing the format to a responsive design flipbook made it viewable on any device.
With a goal of making a memorable keepsake for annual award winners, ISH-Productions devised the strategy, approach, and design of an awards booklet. Michelle brought a more personal, human touch to the new booklet by conducting one-on-one interviews with each of the nominees and those who nominated them, and then incorporating them into the content. Her approach allowed H&M to truly highlight the individual accomplishments of those up for an award, while also recognizing the employees who suggested the nominations.
